F16 Fighter Pilot Saved by Ground Collision Avoidance Software

AGCAS Saves F16 Pilots Life

Cockpit footage has emerged of an F16 fighter pilot losing consciousness while on a training exercise with the Arizona Air National Guard.

The video shows the pilots heads up display hitting high g -forces when the pilot blacks out.

At around 11,000 feet altitude, 8.4G and descending vertically at a rapid rate voices over the on board 2 way radio can be heard saying ‘sully recover, sully recover’.

Cockpit alarms sound as the AGCAS – ‘Automated Ground Collision Avoidance Software’ kicks in at around 7,000 feet altitude saving the pilots life.
